Each year, the EPA hosts Septic Smart Week which aims to educate and encourage homeowners and communities to care for and maintain their septic systems. Through outreach activities, EPA informs homeowners on correct septic system care, helps local agencies to promote homeowner education, and educates local decision makers on infrastructure to help improve and sustain their communities. For more information on Septic Smart Week and useful tips for septic system usage, visit the EPA website: https://www.epa.gov/septic/septicsmart-week
Gwinnett County also has a Homeowner's Guide to Septic System Maintenance to provide helpful facts and tips to property care for their system systems. Access the free guide here: https://www.gwinnettcounty.com/static/departments/water/pdf/Septic_Kit.pdf
And remember, only the three P's go down the toilet (whether you have septic or sewer!): pee, poop, and paper.
